Genuine Overkill is a values-driven company. How we work is just as important to us as the work, itself. Our leadership has a long-standing & verifiable track record of producing award-winning work that’s yielded great results for our clients. Success has never been measured by the number of clients we have or our annual billings, but by the quality of our work and the relationships we enjoy with our clients, staff & extended industry network.

We stubbornly work with the best talent in the industry, and we treat them with the same appreciation & respect we show our clients. So, we have immutable standards and practices that guide our work.

Not every client is willing to roll with us – but the ones who do, are the kind we do our best work for. In fact, they’re the only ones we work with. 

Genuine Overkill pays for the industry’s best talent. We ask that our clients do as well.

We do not engage in crowdsourcing practices.

Crowdsourcing is a practice that reduces our profession into a contest. It may be appealing to have 100+ designers compete for your branding business – but only a tiny percentage of these designers ever make a dime. The practice is eroding the creative field from within & while labor laws haven’t caught up with this practice, we won’t contribute to it.

Sustainability & Conservation

We were recently asked about our sustainability practices. Frankly, we didn’t have a good answer. So, we addressed that immediately. We’re in the business of creating unforgettable memories – and we shouldn’t be doing so at the expense of our planet.

Effective January 2023, we proudly announce that Genuine Overkill is taking action to reduce our environmental impact. We have recently partnered with TerraPass to offset the entirety of our corporate carbon footprint while simultaneously working with our clients to integrate and improve sustainable practices in the production of their events.

We also work with Evertreen to regularly plant trees around the developing world. We love these guys for their transparency & compelling storytelling. Check out our Progress here.

 Some of our current practices include:  

  • Evaluate & consider 3rd party vendor sustainability practices before hiring.

  • Source materials and products from environmentally and socially-responsible suppliers.

  • Utilize energy-efficient lighting and tech throughout our productions. 

  • Favor locally-made and biodegradable products/materials.

  • Provide training and education for employees and partner companies on our sustainability practices.

a word on Pitching

We have countless case studies & proof points when it comes to establishing our creativity & prowess in nightlife space. We’re happy to walk prospective clients through our experience & answer any questions.  We can provide pricing, and proposed business approaches, but in the Nightlife CPG brand world, we no longer pitch on spec.  We did.  No more.  Pitches come with a considerable cost and investment that we feel should be applied to our client’s work. Yes, pitching is the industry standard. We’re opting to not buy into the insanity. We’ll just keep our heads down and do the best work we possibly can. We’re confident in that new business approach.
